1st Sunday in Nursery

Hazel is now 18 months old, so she can go to Nursery during the 2nd and 3rd hours of church!  No more wrestling for 3 hours!  I've been a little worried about how she would do because she's such a Mommy's girl (no complaints), so I was anxious to see how she would do.  Last Sunday, I brought her to the nursery room with leaders she didn't know and a few kids she did know.  She had me put her down so she could sit on the ground with her friend Jones.  I told everyone, "This is Hazel!" and I looked at her and waited for the big cry.  Nothing.  I walked out of the room.  Seriously?  MY Hazel?  It's almost like she was so relieved I finally brought her to the room she knew had to exist with toys, friends, and snacks.  So an hour later, a nursery leader came to the Sunday School class so I could change Hazel's diaper, so I did... and I brought her back out to the lady.  Hiding my anxiety about making the trade again, I put Hazel down.  She held her hand up to the lady and walked back to nursery.  Seriously.  That happened.  I've never been more shocked as Hazel's mom.  And I've never been so proud!  =)  The leaders said she did amazing for the first time.  I have to say though, I was 90% thrilled and about 10% sad she had grown up so quickly and hadn't realized it.  Aww.  My baby is a toddler!  That being said, we all know next Sunday could be will most likely be terrible.  Here's to hoping the good streak continues!

Nursery ROCKS!!!! And I think if they love it, they just love it. No worries about next week! I was worried about Ali too but she's doing great. She's been two weeks so far and she is so happy in there! Glad the first week went well for you! Good luck!

You are so blessed that Hazel took so well to Nursery. I remember when Marshall had his first day in the nursery (this was in the old building on Lucas). We could hear him screaming all the way down to the end of the hall. Eventually, though, he got used to it. Our children always surprise us, don't they?
