Father's Day

Hazel adores her Dada.  I just melt when I see them play together and love on each other.
Preside, provide, and protect (and I'll add play) -- James fulfills all of his father roles and responsibilities so well.

We love you, Daddy!
Happy Father's Day to my wonderful dad and father-in-law as well.  Without one, I wouldn't have known what to look for in a husband and father, and without the other, I wouldn't have found the perfect man for me and father for Hazel.

A Child's Prayer

I can't get over this picture.  It melts my heart... and makes me laugh.  She's so intense!  Truth be told, she doesn't actually do this during a prayer.  Usually after.  During the prayer, she is too busy yelling at us to pay attention to her.

Peek A Zoo

Hazel loves the animal peek-a-boo books from the library.  For some reason, she's always loved to do the elephant noise - arm up and all - more than any other noise, so I decided that must be her favorite animal... for now.  Yesterday we went to the Dallas Zoo with some friends, and we headed straight for the elephants.  She couldn't stop babbling all about them.  It was so fun to watch her get so excited for all of the animals.

Hazel has mastered the art of the stiff-arm.  She seemed perfectly fine sharing the elephant with Jones and Cohen, but me, no way.  HER elephant.  I also love how she inched in closer and closer to Jones during snack time.  I'm not sure he even noticed.  I did.  So back to the animals, Hazel really enjoyed watching the crazy monkeys, the giraffes, and penguins.  I'm sure she'd love to go back soon, but I think that may be the single and last time we go this year.  I don't know if I could stand it in the full blown Texas summer heat!  We made it just in time.  It'll be swimming and splash parks form here on out...

Mom's 60th

Mom and Dad were in town for Mom's 60th birthday weekend, so we thought we'd throw a little bday bash for her.  Since she was born in the 50s, we did a 50s theme.

Along with that, we shared 60 memories/favorite things about Mom over the years. Of course,  a few things were mentioned multiple times, such as Mom always has a song for everything, she goes above and beyond for any event/show she's a part of, she always made sure she looks nice for Dad when he comes home, she always cooks yummy things, etc.  Lots of other memories were shared, but the main point was to let Mom know how much we love her!  Happy 60th!
