Easter

Easter weekend was also General Conference weekend this year.  There was a little activity in The Friend, so we did those scripture readings with the kids in the week leading up to Easter Sunday.  In talking about the Atonement, Hazel had so many thoughtful questions like, "How did Jesus not do anything wrong?" and "How did Jesus pray on the cross?" and "Why did Jesus have to die in that way?"  I had to really think of the best way to explain things, about an almost incomprehensible topic, to a 4 year old.  Sometimes I'm overwhelmed by the trust placed in me to teach my children the Gospel and everything else.  Hazel's final response was, "It's ok.. maybe I'll understand when I'm older."  What she doesn't know is that we're all still learning, no matter what age we are.

My parents came up for Easter weekend, so the Janssons came for a few days and the Dunnings for one as well.  On Good Friday, James had work off, so he joined us for Legoland and the Aquarium in Grapevine.  We had never been to either place, and we had a great time!

We also did crafts and even got to play with some little ducklings!

Here are goofy cousins - Hazel and Miles - on their way to the park!  Wish he lived closer!

On Saturday we had an egg hunt!

G found something he liked...

On Easter Sunday, we watched Conference, shared the Easter story using plastic eggs, and took pictures of all of the grandkids in order.

A week before, we took some of our own family photos as well.  I'm so grateful I get to be with these people forever.

HAPPY EASTER!
