Birthday Week!

It was a double birthday week for the J's- James and Joey. We started celebrating James's birthday early by going to Texas de Brazil and ate SO much delicious meat. Even though James didn't want a picture, we got one with the meat guy anyway. Our faces were hot being near that leg of lamb. No, we did not eat that cut of meat.

James's actual birthday was on Sunday, so our celebration was concentrated on food...not that it wouldn't be anyway. I've looked high and low for a STELLAR Cafe Rio type meal online, and I decided to trust one website (favfamilyrecipes.blogspot.com) because they claimed they are very picky and have played around with the recipe until it was just right. Well, all in all, it was the best copycat I've had, but the sweet pork just still will never be the same. It never gets that dark, deep color and flavor that I'm wanting. I'll have to play with it. Anyway, altogether it was delicious and James was pleased, so that's all that matters. James got a man toy for his birthday and some cake and ice cream with friends.

We played some cards and later watched the finale of The Next Food Network Star. I was thrilled that Melissa won! I think I'd watch her and would like her little tips. Plus she's from Texas. =)
Clark and Joey drove down to Dallas to look for a house, so we've been able to celebrate with them this week. On Monday we went to Celebration, a cute country cookin' restaurant, and we even had our own little room to celebrate. Here they are with their delicious birthday desserts.

Joey's birthday was on Wednesday, so we celebrated with pizza and her favorite dessert, strawberry shortcake. I remembered that my cousin Laurie put a recipe for it on her blog awhile ago, and I had to go looking for it because it looked DELICIOUS. Wow. It was gooood. Thanks Aunt Rachel and Laurie!
Happy 24th, Joey!!
And Happy 25th, James!!
